Who knows what the vineyard has thought when it awoke that year? Maybe it knew that that year it would have to do its utmost to celebrate the millennium vintage with a very special wine… Spring and the beginning of the summer were disappointing and could have got in the way of its development. Our team at Château Haut Breton Larigaudière, which has taken care of the vineyard with a lot of dedication, and the sky which gave us a marvellous second half of the summer, have given our very first cuvee its patent of nobility.

This vintage 2000 promises a wine with great ageing potential which undoubtedly deserves to open the honours list of these prestigious cuvees of Château Haut Breton Larigaudière. We chose the name “Le Créateur” ( which means ‘the creator’) to pay tribute to Emile DE SCHEPPER who bought the property in 1964 and who started the renovation of the estate. « Le Créateur » is of course also the literal translation of the Flemish family name « DE SCHEPPER ».

« Le Créateur » reflects the continuous and tireless striving for perfection with regard to the personality of a vintage. Even the smallest detail reflects the special attention paid to all the elements which influence the life and evolution of the wine.
